WHY BDY EXISTS

The problems kept
showing up.

So we stopped accepting them as normal.

After years of navigating plastic-surgery recovery, wearing compression garments and professionally altering more than 10,000 fajas through The Faja Doctor, Diana Wright kept seeing the same fit problems repeat themselves.

Traditional garments often lacked the waist-to-hip proportions, lower-abdominal coverage, torso construction and targeted compression that real post-surgical bodies actually needed.

BDY was created to approach compression differently — combining hands-on fit expertise, intentional design and surgical insight to create garments built around the realities of recovery and the shape of real women.

THE FAJA DOCTOR

Diana’s expertise was built through personal transformation, years of post-surgical experience and more than 10,000 professional faja alterations.

Working directly with thousands of garments and bodies exposed the same recurring issues again and again — poor proportions, insufficient lower-abdominal control, uncomfortable torso construction and compression placed in the wrong areas.

That hands-on knowledge became the foundation of BDY.

My First Plastic Surgery

Diana's first round of plastic surgery introduced her to the world of post-operative compression — and to the frustrations that often came with finding a faja that actually fit.

THE FIRST STITCH

A Need Becomes A Business

Within days of recognizing how many women were struggling with poorly fitting fajas, Diana began offering alteration services in Chicago. Word spread quickly.

A NEW MODEL

Mail-In Faja Alterations

The service expanded beyond local appointments into mail-in alterations, allowing women to send garments in from across the country and eventually from around the world.

Becoming The Faja Doctor

The Faja Doctor became the identity for a growing community centered on recovery, fit education, plastic-surgery conversations and hands-on garment expertise.

Thousands Of Garments Later

The alteration business expanded rapidly, exposing Diana to hundreds of faja styles, countless body proportions and the same garment-design problems over and over again.

Why Not Design It Better?

After repeatedly altering the same problem areas, Diana began developing her own compression garments. The project expanded into material selection, construction, manufacturing and the medical side of post-operative compression.
